Barre Chord Brutality

Lesson Notes

Check these Barre chords out. Your fingers need to have strength and this is one way of doing it. Keep attacking those strings with the exercises in the pdf below. Then when you play them in a song they should be much smoother. Its a good way to warm up ALL your fingers as well.  Soon barre chords will be a piece of freaken cake!

  1. Turn on the metronome.
  2. Practice til memorized.

The speed of memorization doesn't matter. Meaning if it takes you a while thats fine. It takes us all a while.

Workout and Theory

The workout is in the first 2 pdfs. The last 2 pdfs contain 3 and 4 string barre chords which is more of a theoretical style lesson. It shows you the chords in a key using barre chords.

Michael, amazing stuff you have here. I am not sure if I am doing it right, my fingers are killing me after 15 minutes of practice. Is there a chance that it can be because of type of strings I am using or? Thanks

Yes, barre chords will do that to you if you are not used to them. What kind of guitar are you playing on?

If acoustic, it will be much harder and yes it could be the strings...but you will get used to them.

Thanks for your nice words. Always when practicing if you feel pain you should stop until you feel better.
