Abstract: This is the first lesson I'm uploading in terms of a direct commission. A friend of mine mentioned that he was having problems progressing as he found that although he could practice with a metronome and was learning chords and arpeggios, he didn't feel like he was making progress. This is about how to step out of the learner circle and take your first breath inside the advanced players ring. All guitarist are equal in my eyes, but this is a lesson for serious guitarists wanting to advance.

Abstract: My intention in this series of articles is to give you an insight into how a professional musician approaches the guitar from a perspective of typical practice sessions. The content of my session will work on any type of guitar, but in the interests of diversity I tend to distribute the elements across my three main instruments: Parker Fly Deluxe (electric), Ovation Balladeer (electro-acoustic) and Godin ACS slim (electro-classical).

Abstract: I designed and developed exercises to improve and control my picking hand. I composed all the exercises with sixteenth notes off beats. Why did I use them? Because they are so hard to play fast and clean back to back.

Abstract: All the examples below are based on the chromatic scale and use sequence groups of sixes. I think the workout develops finger independence, alternate picking, and most important, helps to synchronize both hands.
