I designed and developed exercises to improve and control my picking hand. I composed all the exercises with sixteenth notes off beats. Why did I use them? Because they are so hard to play fast and clean back to back. I think these exercises are great for building right hand coordination. Begin all exercises slowly at first and then increase the speed. Don't forget to use strict alternate picking. Happy picking!

Example 1. Here is the pentatonic sounding Study No.1 that ascends and descends through the A minor pentatonic scale. It moves across the strings on the low string to the high string.

The last exercise use string skipping techniques (Study No. 2) that ascends and descends through the A minor pentatonic scale.
