The Major Blues Scale Box
Patterns on Guitar Fretboard
Here is the major blues scale for
guitar. The images below covers all the major
blues scale patterns in all positions on guitar.
(guitar major blues scale five positions) You can easily pass
one position to other and practice all the major
blues scale guitar positions using this page. The
sample scale is given in G and all the red notes
refers to root and all the blue notes refer to "blue
note" which differs this scale from the major
pentatonic scale and makes it blues as we mentioned
in
guitar major blues scale lesson.
You can practice these blues box patterns just
shifting the position (using a different root note).
We recommend you to memorize this box patterns in
string and position pairs like 3th position-root is
on A string, and so on.
Another good thing for you to practice is to open
Guitar Intervals page on MyGuitarWorkshop and
try to understand the intervals used in major
blues scale. It also will improve your ability to
find intervals on guitar fretboard.

blues scale patterns in all keys. Get your
guitar, turn on the radio and find the key of a
song then try major blues scale, minor blues
scale or pentatonic scales over it.
Good luck !!
